Furniture Design Empathy Coin stash by Brandon Yeo As the name suggests, Empathy is a coin bank that strives to allow the user to empathize with those in need. Coins put in will be separated by a divider, into personal savings in the opaque area and the charitable amount in the glass dome. Once the space in the personal savings area is filled, every coin deposited will fall into the charitable area, suggesting that only once you have enough, then could you afford to provide more. This is inspired by the Muslim's culture of 'Zakat', which is to provide to the poor and those living without means livelihood and could not meet their basic needs.
