Furniture Design Bonding Stool by Ioannis Kanellopoulos Bonding is a two-person seat that is conditionally functional. It finds balance when two people use it simultaneously. Otherwise, in a more selfish behavior, it collapses. Critical design has been the inspiration source, since the designers’ goal was to make a social statement about the human alienation of modern times. Creating a simple, modern and symbolic design, while achieving a conditional functionality has been an engineering challenge. Static study simulations were performed to cope with this. Metal sheet bending is the main manufacturing process for the item.
